1st December 2010

We arrived at Stafford after an uneventful journey. We were entering both the pointed League classes as well as an entry from me in the 6 blooms class ( Red Ken Trophy ) The Sowerby Bridge Society came 3rd in the main league and we won the alternative league. I was over the moon to discover that i had won the 6 bloom class after finishing 2nd last year. All 3 photos can be found on Paul Barlow's web site. Just click on to the Late shows and then onto the national.
Prior to going down to see how I had done I judged the Middleton show with Ken Harrop. They have moved again to the local cricket club which seems ideal for them. The Japs were very good with Howard Livesey turning out some nice big ones.
On the Sunday after the National I took a couple of vases to Dukinfield. There weren't a tremendous amount of vases but the quality was very good. Len Whitehouse won the Silver medal with 5x5.
Tuesday evening and all day Wednesday saw John and I at Denton for the North West Counties Show. We put a Society entry in both League classes. I put an entry in the 3x3 different Section class.
My 3 Bryony Wade were judged to be the best vase of Incurves in the Show.
It all came tumbling down on me at our show on the following Saturday. I only won one 1st prize with a vase of Woolmans Venture whilst John Swift won every single Trophy and medal that was available to him. He did the same to me last year!!!!!
By know I was nearly cut out but managed to find a couple of reflex for the League class at the Northern Group.
On the Wednesday we had our Late Late Show with the same format as the Early Late Show. The attendance was disappointing but the audience were treated to an excellent Judging display by Ken Harrop. John Swift won the best vase with Fairweather.
I have set my sights on the George Wilson at next years National. I am Growing the following:-
