Back in the swing of things after a two week stay in hospital for the removal of part of a cancerous bowel. Whilst I was under the anesthetic the surgeon also took out the spleen and a small section of the pancreas.
However, feeling great and a great thanks to the wife Trish for keeping the plants in a tip top condition. I couldn't have done better myself.
The time has come for the potting into the finals and Keith Atkinson from Leigh kindly came over today to pot up 22 plants. These were Trident: 5, Shirley Sunburst:2, Amber Olwyn: 4, Hesketh Knight 4:, Grace Holden:6 of which 3 I am trying at earlies. I stopped Olwyin and Amber Olwyn on the 5th of May and Primrose Charles Tandy and Yellow Charles Tandy and 2 of the 5 Trident on May 10th.
Tomorrow the plants will get a spray as part of the spraying programme with Amistar. Keith has offered to come over in 10 days to pot some more up, whilst Mick Graves and his mate Pete Booker will be coming over from Scunthorpe at the beginning of June to continue the process.
