21st April 2009
I have been desperately potting into 5" the last few days as I go into hospital on Wednesday for an operation. I will probably be in for a week but I am not allowed to do much for a few weeks afterwards.
I have managed to do 98 lates and 37 earlies leaving just 15 to do. That is why I have left them in the greenhouse rather than the cold frames so that Trish has a better chance of watering them along with the many other jobs that she will have to do.
It also means that I will not be at Harrogate selling the plants. Barry Hogg came yesterday to pick up the 320 plants that I was going to take.
It was the Northern Group meeting last Saturday and with Barry Hogg being voted onto the N C S Executive it left a vacancy for the Group reps job. I thought that I would be ideal for the job but the committee thought otherwise. I only got 6 votes out of a possible 29. There were four candidates and after a draw at 11 each in the first round Richard Watson was duly elected.
