3rd February 2009
Yesterday I potted on 29 of the 30 cuttings that were taken on the 5th of January. The only one that missed out was a Shirley Sunburst that had budded up. It is prone to this, the roots of the cuttings were not excessive but were good enough to be potted up into 31/2" clays. Took nearly all of the remaining lates apart from Woolmans Venture and Roy Coopland which I will take next week.
Don't forget the all day event at Ossett this Sunday. Speakers: Vinnie Aldred and John Neville.
The three pictures this week are :

1) a photo showing the snow that fell Sunday night and Monday.

2) a new variety to be put out by Halls of Heddon in 2009 called Bill Holden. A huge 14a pink.

3) A 15b light yellow Grace Holden put out by Walkers of Chester also for 2009
