2nd March 2009
Took off the soil heating cable last Monday cuttings that had been taken on 2/2/09.
I will be potting these up Monday. Put the 71 pots that I need for the potting in to soak on Sunday so that they are nice and turgid.
Had to open the the greenhouse windows a tadge on Sunday as the temperature was just creeping up to 80 degrees, I also sprayed the plants that are in 31/2 with B9 to restrict their growth. the mixture was 2/3 of a teaspoon to 2 pints.I have also tried to give the plants more space this year in an attempt to keep them down a bit.
The 51 plants of Bill Holden arrived from Halls this week. Each participant has bought 3 to be shown at our show in November so as its named after my dad(who would have been 99 this year) I am looking forward to see what they make of it.
This last week has been spent at A.G.M.s
Monday was our local horticultural meeting
Wednesday was the North West Counties where I was re elected as Chairman
Thursday was the Sowerby Bridge A.G.M. John Swift resigned/retired as the Sec/ Treasurer after 39 years so as well as been President I am know Treasurer with Roger Moore taking on the role of Sec as well as Chairman.
Saturday I was at Scunthorpe for their A.G.M. I joined their Committee.
This Saturday its the turn of the Northern Group at Ossett

Hi Dave
Cuttings are growing well, for all your avid readers of your site, any chance you could list all the varieties you grow, plus say comments, why you like them, I think we could then relate more when you mention a variety!
My other passion is Perpetual Carnations, so if ever you fancy a try let me know, I have plenty of varieties!
Keep you updated on the cuttings
Regards
Alan
