Another season underway. The 3 pictures this week show
1 The soil heating cable It is made up of a bottom layer of bubble plastic, this is then followed by a layer of riversand with the soil heating cable spread out on the top of this.This is then covered with another layer of river sand.
2 On top of the sand is then placed a black plastic sack to keep the sand moist.
3 The stools are placed on top of the black plastic.
I am pleased to say that there are already shoots coming from the stools so I hope that it will be a good season
I have ditched the following cultivars for next season William Turner, Pelsall Imperial, Harry Revill, Twyford Gold, Yellow Olwyn and Sam Vinter. I have brought back in the Hughes family from Dave Heath and Doreen Statham.I am also trying Jimmy Tranter, Baltic Amber and Grace and Bill Holden.
