Well off we go again for another season. Lets hope that it is a good one.

At the Northern group meeting last Saturday two new classes were approved. One for the Early show.It was 6 vases of 3 from Sections 23 24 25 and 29 not more than 3 from any Section. It is seen as an attempt to get growers who do not have the quantity of blooms to enter the big multi vase classes. A similar class was agreed for the late show it being 6 vases of 3 from Sections 3 4 5 6 and 7 not more than 2 from any Section. It should be quite interesting to see what happens.

As can be seen from the pictures below things are beginning in earnest . The first picture shows me making a start on washing the 31/2 inch pots. They are been washed in hot water with a touch of Jeyes Fluid. The second picture shows my rooting mixture 1 part John Innes no1 1 part perlite and 1 part peat. This all mixed together,put in a seed tray and then covered with perlite before inserting the cuttings. The third picture shows the length of the cuttings that I take. They are Trident.
