23rd July 2008

It's a little late this week as I spent Monday and Tuesday at Tatton Park helping Mike Higgins Anne Brook and Ken Dear prepare the N C S stand for the show so by the time I got home I was tired out. We could do with at least one more helper on the Monday and Tuesday.
The weather has not changed for the last 3 weeks so I have been feeding with Chempak No1 solid.
The varieties that I started to feed this week are as follows

William Turner
Harry Tolly
The rest of the Shirley Sunburst
David McNamara
Hesketh Knight ( if anyone can tell me how to grow it I would appreciate it )
Roy Coopland (did you know that it has been out for 25 years and is still one of the best Intermediates)
The rest of Bill Holden( available next year from Halls of Heddon)

The following varieties were top dressed
Primrose Charles Tandy
Roy Coopland
Shirley Sunburst
Trident
David Mac
Bill Holden
Hesketh Knight
Twyford Gold
Harry Tolly
Sam Vinter
William Turner

I also spent a couple of hours tying up.

Only one more week of blacking out so I rang John Nevill to see if I could call in to see a practical demo of the next step and as usual he was his obliging self so I will probably go when its the Early National at Stafford
I prove read the Sowerby Bridge schedule today so things are moving at a pace.
