Just doing the normal things this week i.e. tying in the laterals making sure that I water before the laterals go down. In some case that is once a day.

The bud is starting to show colour on odd varieties so I am lifting them into the greenhouse so that they are under cover. I have also sprayed with Decis to hopefully keep caterpillars away.

I have also given my Woolmans Venture at the allotment a spray with Amistar as they have attracted some White Rust from somewhere.

Friday I was off early to take part in the Judging of the Northern Group show at Harrogate. I was obviously not early as my partners, Mick Graves and Harry Lawson had already started when I arrived. The Show produced a lot of quality but was a little sparse in places. Photos in photo section of the web page.

Sunday was an extremely windy day and you wished you had been more attentive when you put up the the stainng wire in Spring. However all seem to have survived.

At the moment (Monday) I am packing the car ready for going tonight to Bury Town Hall for the North West Early show which is on tomorrow.
